A rehabilitation project of a deserted quarry in the southern part of the Arava valley, near Eilat, that covers an area of over 50 Acres. The site contains acacia trees, located at the top of soil polls, dozens of meters high each. The operators of the quarry were required to protect the trees, but nor the surrounding soil, which has been excavated. Consequently the trees were left to dry. Due to the desert climate conditions, the trees remained standing as sculptures indicating to the visitors of the site of the original topography of the quarry that has been altered.
Our design included the creation of two reservoirs, intended to restrain water floods and to prevent the inundation of Arava road. The site is open to visitors who can enjoy two observation points: one the to Eilat Mountain in the west, the other to the mountains of Edom, in the east.
